Sonoma Body Balance offers classes to reduce back and joint pain and improve posture. Private and group instruction are available. Classes taught by Dana Davis, MA, Certified Balance/Original Alignment Instructor and Certified Yoga Teacher. Dana trained at the Balance Center in Palo Alto and has studied at the Institut Superieur d'Aplomb in Paris. he has practiced yoga since 1984 and is a graduate of the 3-year Advanced Studies Program at the Yoga Room in Berkeley (a 500-hour program). She has studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater, and is a certified “Relax and Renew” Trainer. She became certified by Elise Miller to teach Yoga for Scoliosis in 2013. In 2017 she was certified by Dr. Loren Fishman to teach Yoga for Osteoporosis and in 2022 in his Back Pain methodology. She has also completed advanced studies with Richard Miller, Ph.D., in Yoga Nidra/iRest. She has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Spirituality and was a professional Flamenco dancer for 7 years in San Francisco, performing twice in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. Dana has also studied Afro-Haitian dance, Congolese dance, Belly dance, Tai Chi, and Karate. She also completed a 3-year training program at the Authentic Movement Institute in Berkeley, and a 9-month training with the Hendricks Institute in Breathwork and Movement Therapy.
