The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is a public, nine-month residential high school based in Greenville that serves emerging artists from across the state. It offers concentrations in Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Film, Music, and Visual Arts, providing pre-professional training within an environment oriented toward artistic and academic excellence. The school follows a master-apprentice model, with faculty drawn from practicing artists who also serve as educators, and it delivers a rigorous arts program alongside a diploma-bearing academic curriculum. Admission is by audition and application, and there is no tuition to attend, although there are minimal processing and meal-plan fees. Students from diverse backgrounds collaborate across all five art areas, building connections that can endure beyond graduation. In late September 2025, the school planned to host its annual Grand Jeté event.
