Located in Greenville within the Upstate region along the I-85 corridor, the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center functions as a hub for aviation and aerospace component manufacturing. It hosts more than 80 tenants, including well-known companies such as 3M, Lockheed Martin, Michelin, and Cytec. The site is recognized as a major aircraft maintenance and modification center, supported by an 8,000-foot by 150-foot concrete runway suitable for air cargo and related aviation activities. The center's economic footprint is substantial, with annual impact estimates exceeding $1.4 billion and about 6,800 jobs supported. It spans more than 550 acres currently marketed for development. In 2024 the center earned recognition at the Southern Economic Development Council Communications Awards for two SCTAC-produced videos. A 2025 update notes SCTAC hosts more than 100 companies and that its annual economic impact has tripled since 2017.
