South St. Paul Steel Supply is an ISO 9001 Certified steel service center offering all metals including steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized and more. Established in 1904 by ancestors of the Berg family, the company supplied steel and metal related products to local fabricators in St. Paul, Minnesota. They continually expanded their products and acquired services to meet the growing needs of their customers. In 1954 the company was named St. Paul Steel Company, based on a strong work ethic and the philosophy of providing absolute, full customer service. The company was relocated to a larger facility in St. Paul to accommodate its expanding product base and services. David A. Berg became the fourth generation to enter the family business in 1966 and began developing his hands on knowledge and experience throughout all aspects of the operation. Inspired by the legacy of hard work,dedication and family he was motivated to continue the company's tradition on continuous growth and service capabilities. In 1975 he became the company's president. While adhering to traditional customer orientated principles, David brought the company into the modern era of steel distribution by building a state of the art steel service center in South St. Paul, Minnesota. The facility was completed in 1992 and the company's name was changed to South St. Paul Steel Supply Co., Inc.
