Southern Pines Animal Shelter’s mission is to nurture the bond between people and pets through community, compassion, and collaboration, and a vision to forge a path toward sustainable, responsible, and community-driven lifesaving. Founded in 1952, the organization operates a no-kill Shelter in Hattiesburg, MS that cares for more than 4,000 lost and unwanted dogs and cats each year, and works to find them loving outcomes through reunification, adoption, and a thriving EMBARK Transport Program. The organization also operates the Second Chance Thrift Shop with locations in Hattiesburg and Oak Grove where all proceeds help pets in need, and a Healthy Pet Clinic whose mission is to make vital veterinary services affordable and accessible to community pets.
