SPD is a Singapore-based non-profit organization focused on helping people with disabilities or those at risk of developing disabling conditions to reach their potential and participate in mainstream society. Founded in 1964 by Rotarians as the Society for Aid to the Paralysed, the organization evolved from a sheltered workshop for meaningful employment to a broader disability service provider, adopting the current name SPD and later transitioning to a company limited by guarantee in 2026 to reinforce governance and sustainability. SPD is located in the Central Region of Singapore and operates within the non-profit sector, delivering a diverse range of services intended to support independence, integration, and continued development for people across different life stages.
