St. Ann’s Warehouse is a Brooklyn-based performing arts organization that serves as an artistic home for international companies, the American avant-garde, and emerging artists capable of working at a grand scale. Through eclectic programming, flexible performance spaces, and a collaborative producing ethos, it presents innovative theater to American audiences. It has played a role in the development and activation of the DUMBO and Brooklyn waterfront through space preservation and adaptive reuse. In 2015, St. Ann’s established a permanent home in Brooklyn Bridge Park, occupying a landmark 1860s Tobacco Warehouse with the Steinberg Theater, a developmental Studio for community use, and The Max Family Garden open to park visitors. Its roots trace to Arts at St. Ann’s, a public-use program that preserved the Church of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity, evolving into a venue for contemporary, classical, and multi-artist performances before relocating to DUMBO in 2000.
