St Barnabas House is an independent charitable hospice located in Worthing, West Sussex. We provide end of life care services, both at the hospice and in the local community, to adults with advanced progressive life-limiting conditions.

We first opened our doors in 1973 and since then we have cared for thousands of patients and their families across the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas.

We offer palliative care services for patients with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Our team consists of nurses, doctors, social workers, counsellors, a Chaplain, physiotherapists, complementary therapists, an Artist-in-Residence, our Hospice at Home Team and our friendly volunteers.

Our services include:
• 20 bed In-Patient Unit
• Day Hospice with 18 places
• Community Palliative Care Team
• Family Services Team
• Education Department
• Hospice at Home

At St Barnabas House, we care for the whole person, aiming to meet all needs – physical, emotional, social and spiritual. We provide a range of services, including pain control, symptom relief, skilled nursing care, counselling, complementary therapies, spiritual care, physiotherapy and bereavement support. Our patients and families are never charged for the care they receive from the hospice.

The current annual cost of providing all our care services is over £7.3 million. Only 24p in every pound it costs to provide these services comes via statutory funding, therefore we rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of supporters like you to help us to continue providing care to our patients and their families.
