St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish, located in Lake Zurich, Illinois, is a large, vibrant, and historically significant faith community within the Archdiocese of Chicago. Established in 1949, the parish has grown substantially from its original 97 founding families. Today, it serves more than 4,250 families across the communities of Lake Zurich, Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, North Barrington, Kildeer, and Long Grove. Ministry Center and Worship The current church, dedicated in 1990, is a prominent structure seating nearly 900 people. The Ministry Center (2003) houses the Parish Pastoral Staff, Youth Ministry, Religious Education offices, and meeting spaces for the parish’s over 60 active ministries. The community's mission is to be a Catholic faith family, proclaiming Christ’s teachings through love and service. The parish offers a variety of Mass times, including Saturday Vigil, and multiple Sunday Masses (with a live-streamed option), weekday services. Educational Excellence A cornerstone is St. Francis de Sales Catholic School (SFS), founded in 1956, which serves children in grades preschool through 8th grade.
