Stafford Bandlow Engineering (SBE), A Division of Wiss Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is a team of highly skilled professional engineers who work extensively on movable bridge machinery and electrical systems of all types and vintages. Our team has more than 150 years of combined experience on hundreds of movable bridges nationwide, as well as in Canada and Bermuda. We routinely perform mechanical/electrical inspections and condition assessments on movable structures and counterweight systems, as well as design repairs and new replacement systems for those structures based upon bearing capacities, balancing calculations, and life span estimations. SBE is a leader in providing value-added engineering services. We have performed services in both prime and sub consultant supporting roles to larger engineering firms, construction companies, and independent owners such as railroads and municipalities.
