Embratel Star One is the largest satellite operator in Brazil and Latin America, and functions as a subsidiary of Embratel. It operates a fleet of five geostationary satellites—Star One C1, C2, C3, C12, and Brasilsat B4—and two inclined-orbit satellites, Brasilsat B2 and B3. Created in December 2000 as Star One and renamed Embratel Star One in 2014, the company has added satellites to support national infrastructure and major events, such as Star One C4 and D1 in subsequent years. The company runs the most extensive satellite operations center in Latin America, based in Guaratiba, Rio de Janeiro, from which it controls and monitors its fleet with a skilled Brazilian engineering and technical team. Its infrastructure includes a large antenna park and modern technologies to provide data, video, high-speed Internet, and broadband services to a diverse client base that includes large Brazilian companies, banks, government agencies, and TV broadcasters.
