Startup Policy Lab operates at the intersection of technology and government, focusing on promoting open, data-driven policymaking. The organization builds forums and programs to inform, educate, and empower individuals who aim to craft public policy in support of innovative approaches. Based in San Francisco, California, the group began by connecting the startup community with policymakers through a Meetup in 2013 and expanded to events such as the Tech, Policy & Beer series with The Atlantic’s CityLab and an annual policy summit known as the GET Summit, with future initiatives outlined around the future of work and transportation. Its work situates it within the technology, information, and internet sector, targeting policymakers and technology-focused stakeholders seeking practical guidance and dialogue on policy outcomes.
