As one of Victoria’s key government agencies, we are responsible for administering state legislation, collecting taxes and providing contemporary revenue management services to our customers. In 2022—23, we collected $26.9 billion in revenue. We also manage a range of grants, waivers, exemptions and concessions, including those which help people buy their own homes, such as the First Home Owner Grant and the Victorian Homebuyer Fund. The revenue we collect helps to fund vital infrastructure and government services, such as education, law and order, and healthcare, while also contributing to specific support provided to the community and industry. We have offices in Melbourne and Ballarat. In 2022—23, we employed 807 full-time equivalent staff.
