The organization expanded beyond that group through a series of mergers, beginning with the Mississippi Educational Credit Union in 1990, and ultimately adopting the Statewide name in 2000 to reflect its broader membership. 

Today, Statewide serves more than 80 membership groups and over 17,000 members, making it one of the largest credit unions in Mississippi. It emphasizes conservative, member-oriented leadership and maintains strong financial ratings.
