Steve Madden is a global footwear and accessories company that operates across retail, wholesale, licensing, and international markets. Its product mix includes branded footwear and licensed collections, and it also designs and sources private-label items for retailers, reflecting a diversified approach to fashion accessories. The business traces its roots to a Queens factory and a modest 1990 investment, and is now based in New York, guided by a design-led ethos influenced by rock and roll and its New York origins.
Its customers range from fashion-conscious consumers seeking on-trend footwear to wholesale partners across department stores, mass merchants, shoe chains, and online retailers. In recent years the company has expanded internationally, opening stores in the Netherlands and planning additional Australian locations and a flagship, with planned openings in the Caribbean and the Americas in 2026.
