Stormont Vail Health is a nonprofit integrated health care system that has served northeast Kansas for more than 130 years. It encompasses Stormont Vail Hospital, a 586-bed acute-care facility designated Magnet, and Cotton O’Neil Clinic, a multi-specialty physician group with more than 250 physicians. Thousands of staff provide care and support across the hospital and 35 additional locations, including centers focused on heart, cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, digestive health, pediatrics, and a network of regional primary care and Express Care clinics. Based in Topeka, Kansas, Stormont Vail Health participates in the Mayo Clinic Care Network, linking local expertise with Mayo Clinic knowledge. It maintains local partnerships with Baker University’s nursing program, Washburn University Athletics, and the Powercat Health Partnership with Kansas State University and the Kansas Health Foundation. In May 2026, the organization broke ground on a new healthcare campus in Emporia, signaling an expansion of regional access to care.
