Story Time Chess develops early childhood education programs that teach chess through storytelling. The approach allows children as young as three to understand how the pieces move while cultivating a sustained interest in the game. A network of certified storytellers delivers instruction through in-home sessions, offering both one-on-one and small-group formats. The company is based in Brooklyn, New York, and operates as a mid-sized education organization. In addition to in-home lessons, Story Time Chess provides a cloud-based portal that trains teachers to deliver the curriculum in schools, regardless of prior chess experience. In 2023, the company expanded its offering with Story Time Backgammon, introduced at Toy Fair in New York City.
