The Summit Foundation is a community foundation based in Breckenridge, Colorado, established in 1984 to mobilize resources for local impact. It operates in the philanthropic fundraising services space, providing grants, scholarships, and community initiatives to residents of Summit County and neighboring counties. It supports over 200 nonprofit organizations operating programs in Summit, Lake, Park and Grand Counties, and it also offers scholarships to local high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education through traditional and non-traditional pathways. The foundation concentrates its work in four priority areas: creating bright futures for children and youth, promoting environmental stewardship, fostering healthy and safe communities, and fostering thriving adult communities. In 2025, The Summit Foundation appointed Ellen Reid as Executive Director. The organization functions as a small-to-mid-sized regional foundation that partners with local nonprofits to advance its four priority areas.
