Sungate Design Group is certified through North Carolina’s Unified Certification Program as a Small Professional Services Firm (SPSF). The firm has been on the North Carolina DOT's Register of Qualified Firms for Hydraulic Design since 1992.

Our staff has extensive experience in FEMA regulations, NCDOT procedures and policies for highway drainage design and bridge and culvert analysis, federal and state regulations, environmental compliance, storm water quality, sustainable site design, landscape design, stream and wetland restoration plans, and erosion control design. All of our engineers have extensive experience with FEMA floodway modifications, HEC-2, and HEC-RAS.
