SMA is dedicated to widely disseminating the knowledge, skills, and abilities of professionals who manage with sustainability in mind. We are professionals who drive economic performance and create stakeholder value through social responsibility and environmental stewardship. Our mission is to make a positive impact and foster strategic priorities that create stakeholder value through values and integrity.

The SMA serves two main purposes:

   1. To provide a powerful network of like-minded professionals 
   2. Certification - an accreditation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of professionals who manage for economic performance, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship

Certification can be obtained in two separate tiers:

   a.  Sustainability Management Certified Professional (SMCP) – the premier designation reserved for professionals with significant experience and exposure to a body of knowledge
   b.  Sustainability Management Certified Associate (SMCA) – the designation for students or professionals who wish to certify their general knowledge of sustainability management frameworks and methodologies

Who Can Join:

Membership is open to anyone interested in making a positive difference. Professionals from business, nonprofits, and government are all welcome! Students who want to network with best in class organizations are also encouraged to join.
