Swedese is a Swedish furniture manufacturer in the furniture and home furnishings sector, producing pieces anchored in Scandinavian modern traditions and designed for the future. The company is based in Vaggeryd, Småland, Sweden, with a second factory in Äng near Nässjö, and serves both public and domestic spaces. It was founded in 1945 by Yngve and Jerker Ekström and Sven Bertil Sjöqvist and is currently owned by Anna Johansson and Julio Patino. One of its best-known designs is the Lamino easy chair from 1956, which continues to be manufactured and sold globally. In July 2023 Swedese launched a pension system, marking a recent development.
