Sweet Water Foundation is a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to using urban agriculture to support resilient, equitable communities. It designs intergenerational, interdisciplinary education and career programs that weave historical, scientific, artistic, and cultural elements into project-based learning, amplified by open data platforms. The organization emphasizes hands-on experiences and frames urban agriculture as a pathway to turn waste into community resources while advancing community development goals.

Its approach seeks to maximize impact by embedding programming within existing community networks and fostering spaces where inspiration, education, action, and innovation converge. Sweet Water Foundation is building a growing ecosystem that includes Aquaponics Innovation Centers, Urban Agriculture STE[A+]M hubs, and robust hyper-local partnerships across local, regional, national, and global scales. In 2022 the organization partnered with the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition to offer a free, confidential online counselling service to key Caribbean populations.
