Sydney Film Festival (SFF) is a year-round film organization based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, operating in the Movies, Videos and Sound industry. It stages the Sydney Film Festival, one of the longest-running film festivals in the world, presenting narrative feature films, documentaries and short films over about 12 days, using the State Theatre as its flagship venue and additional cinemas in the CBD, Newtown, Cremorne and other locations. In 2019, the festival showcased over 250 films across more than 500 sessions, and SFF operates the Travelling Film Festival to bring international and Australian cinema to regional centres nationwide. Twelve films are selected for the Official Competition, which offers a $60,000 cash prize, along with several other cash awards presented during the festival.
