The Tarrant Regional Water District is a utilities organization based in Fort Worth, Texas, that has provided water, flood control, and recreational opportunities for about a century. It owns and operates four major reservoirs—Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, and the Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers reservoirs—to secure water supplies for its service area. The district has built extensive infrastructure, including more than 250 miles of water pipelines, over 70 miles of Trinity River Trails, and a 260-acre wetland water reuse project aimed at expanding future supplies. As a major raw water supplier, it serves more than 2.3 million people across 11 North Central Texas counties and supports more than 30 wholesale customers, including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, and the Trinity River Authority. It acts as the local sponsor for the 27-mile Fort Worth Floodway and coordinates with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to ensure levee protection for residents and property. In 2025 it launched an Integrated Water Supply Plan to guide the district's approach to meeting the region's growing water needs.
