The Indian tea industry is over 200+ years old. For most of that time, freshness — sacred to tea as a hygroscopic, living agricultural product — was sacrificed to auctions, warehouses, and middlemen. And in that system, 3.2 million pluckers were rarely given their due. We decided that made no sense. Teabox was founded in 2013 to rebuild the industry from the ground up — sourcing directly from Darjeeling, Assam, and the Nilgiris, packing at origin, and shipping garden-fresh teas to customers across the world. No outdated supply chains. No long storage cycles. No value extraction at the cost of origin. Just exceptional Indian tea, experienced the way it should be. We are vertically integrated by design — tasting in-house, working closely with estates, using technology to predict demand, and delivering freshness globally.
