Tenaga Nasional Berhad, known as TNB, is a major utility operator in Malaysia with an international footprint that includes the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Cambodia. In Malaysia, it serves as the principal electricity generator and also operates the transmission and distribution networks for Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Labuan. Its renewable energy portfolio totals 3,119 MW of gross generation in Peninsular Malaysia (including 2,536.1 MW of large hydro) and 1,183 MW across the international regions, comprising solar, wind, and hydro assets. As of mid-2024, the company supplies electricity to about 11 million customers. The organization is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and employs a sizable workforce. In June 2026, TNB announced plans to invest in transmission infrastructure across Malaysia and Southeast Asia, including upgrading the Peninsular Malaysia grid to 500 kV and committing about RM42 billion through 2028.
