TERNA ENERGY S.A., develops, constructs, owns and operates renewable energy projects in Europe and North America. With respect to wind energy expertise in particular, TERNA ENERGY S.A.:
 
•      Owns 43 operational wind projects which together with the projects under construction have a total capacity of over 1800 MW, with the majority of these projects developed from greenfield to COD/operations ;
•      Is a long term investor (20y+) in renewable energy assets with 100% ownership in all the aforementioned MWs (other than tax equity financing of its US wind energy project as described further below);
•      Conducts extensive engineering, procurement, construction, wind & solar assessment and development work in house but also integrates and works well with third party providers of such services;
•      Has more than 15 years of operating experience in renewable projects both wind and solar, having operated and maintained most of the proven technologies in the production and in the BoP space.
 
TERNA ENERGY established an office in San Francisco in 2010 and in 2012 commissioned its first wind project in the US, the 138 MW Mountain Air Wind Farm in Idaho. 
TERNA ENERGY purchased Mountain Air in the development phase, completed development with the original developer and successfully arranged and closed on the construction financing, tax equity financing, and hybrid institutional & commercial long term debt financing on the facility.
