The Texas Bar Foundation is a Texas-based nonprofit that funds grant programs to strengthen the rule of law and the administration of justice across the state. Its giving supports legal aid for underserved populations, ethics in the legal profession, and the promotion of legal research, publications, forums, and education of the judiciary and the third branch of government. Grants are financed by Fellows and charitable gifts from individuals and law firms, and since its founding in 1965 the foundation has awarded more than $29 million to Texas organizations. It is widely recognized as the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the United States, with a membership comprising a small fraction of licensed Texas attorneys selected for their dedication to the law and to justice.
