Everyday, Akshaya Patra provides hot, nutritious school meals to 1.6 million under-served children in more than 13,839 government schools from 34 kitchen facilities across 12 states.

For many children this is their only meal of the day, and it gives them the essential nutrients growing children need to develop cognitive abilities that enable them to excel in school. Our wholesome meals are an excellent incentive for struggling families to send their children to school, instead of sending them to work to help put food on the table.

Independent studies prove our meals have increased school enrollment, especially for girls, lowered drop-out rates, and improved health and academic performance. Everywhere, our meals are making a positive, meaningful impact on children and their families.
