The Andy Warhol Museum serves as a major venue for engagement with the artist's life and work, using its extensive collections and dynamic programming to foster dialogue among artists, scholars, and the general public. It is part of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, a collaborative project involving the Carnegie Institute, the Dia Art Foundation, and the Andy Warhol Foundation, and it has been operating since May 1994. The museum occupies seven floors of gallery and exhibition space in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, highlighting Warhol's diverse output. Its holdings include about 900 paintings, roughly 100 sculptures, nearly 2,000 works on paper, more than 1,000 prints, and thousands of photographs, alongside a film and video collection of 60 feature films, 200 Screen Tests, and over 4,000 videos. The works span Warhol's career from early 1940s student pieces through 1980s creations and include collaborations with artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Francesco Clemente. In 2025, the museum appointed Mario R. Rossero as director.
