The Arc Eastern Connecticut was founded in 1952 by families in northeastern and southeastern Connecticut who sought opportunities for their children who at the time were not welcome in the public school system. Today The Arc serves over 800 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We offer day and residential supports, employment opportunities, in-home/family supports, life skills training, recreation, and person-centered, community based services.
In partnership with national, state, and local chapters, we are a powerful advocacy force for full inclusion of people with IDD throughout Eastern Connecticut.
