The Armored Group, Inc. is a privately owned company.  Founded in Youngstown, Ohio in 1907 by Louis Knell, the Armored Trunk Manufacturing Company was one of the nation's largest manufacturers of steamers, trunks and luggage during the turn of the twentieth century.  In 1920 Armored relocated west to Los Angeles, California where the company continued to expand into new markets along the west coast.  During war times, Armored served the nation by building footlockers for troops traveling overseas and with the introduction of commercial airline travel, Armored grew into one of the largest luggage manufacturers in the country.

Armored opened an office in New York City in 1980 to head up sales and marketing for  new innovative specialty luggage packages such as its proprietary brands; Alfredo Fettuccini, Sports Network and Luggage Set in a Box and through the licensing of key brands such as Budweiser, Charles Schulz's Snoopy and Friends and the 1984 Olympic Team USA.  Armored established itself as a vendor for national retail establishments and had become the largest luggage and trunk manufacturer west of the Mississippi River.

Armored currently builds custom shipping cases and creative packaging solutions, serving firms in the motion picture industry, military, and other commercial enterprises.
