The Arnold P. Gold Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting humanism in healthcare, defined as clinically excellent care that is kind, safe, and trustworthy. Established in 1988 and based in Fort Lee, New Jersey, the foundation supports programs and resources intended to foster humanistic systems and cultures across medical education and practice, engaging clinicians, learners, and leaders alike. Its best-known initiative is the White Coat Ceremony, which introduces future clinicians to compassionate patient care at the start of their training, with tens of thousands of students participating annually. The organization also administers the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a network of physicians and medical students recognized for leadership in kind and trustworthy care, and offers tools and conferences such as the Tell Me More and Medallia Gold Humanism Trust tools and the Gold Humanism Summit to support its mission.
