The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University is a not-for-profit performing arts institution based in Chicago, Illinois. It focuses on presenting a diverse slate of international, cultural, community, and educational programming while supporting the restoration and preservation of the National Historic Landmark it occupies. Building on a history that traces Chicago’s development from the Great Chicago Fire and the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition through later decades, the venue has hosted opera, rock performances, political conventions, and sporting events, reflecting its longstanding role in the city’s cultural life. As part of Roosevelt University, the organization emphasizes accessibility, aiming to bring audiences from across the city together and to present programming that mirrors the city’s diversity. In 2021 the theater launched the ArtsXChange program to expand its education and community-engagement offerings.
