In the tradition of a tenacious canine, The Austin Bulldog brings a new voice to local journalism. The website is being launched as a nonprofit 501c3 corporation to provide a voice for seasoned, independent journalists in Austin, Texas. In-depth reporting, investigative journalism, community dialog and intelligent commentary will actively engage our readers to advance the cause of democracy, freedom of information and open government. 

Because we aren't funded by advertisers with an affinity for press release articles or burdened with a corporate agenda, we must rely on the community that will benefit from the kind of articles we won't be afraid to publish.
