The Australian Academy of Science is an independent body composed of distinguished Australian scientists that seeks to advance science for the benefit of the broader community. It has developed a comprehensive, evidence-based assessment of Australia's science capability in relation to future needs. This work documents the state of the nation's science capability against anticipated future needs. Based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, the academy operates within the research services sector as a national science institution. Recent activity includes participation in the Tri-Academy Partnership with the Royal Society Te Apārangi and the Royal Society of Canada, which was led by Indigenous Fellows from the three organisations.
