The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, founded in 1898, is the oldest Bach choir in America and is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It specializes in performing the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as music by composers who influenced or were influenced by him, and seeks to promote appreciation of their aesthetic and spiritual value through education and performance. The ensemble combines volunteer singers with a fully professional orchestra and renowned soloists to present Bach’s repertoire. The organization attracts thousands of visitors from the United States and abroad each May to its Bethlehem Bach Festival, making it a notable regional cultural event. It runs educational programs such as Bach to School for children, a Family Concert, a Choral Scholars program for high-school seniors, and the Philadelphia High School Bach Weekend, expanding access to Bach’s music. In 2025 it announced the 117th Bethlehem Bach Festival, titled "A Reimagined Celebration of Music, Tradition, and Bach," and has staged collaborations such as a Gala Concert featuring the Thomanerchor.
