The BTS Center is a non-profit charitable organization in the State of Maine. The Center functions as a think tank, providing affordable access to non-degree educational experiences and resources in the areas of theological education, spiritual formation, and ministry. The Center is the mission successor to Bangor Theological Seminary, whose degree programs ended in June 2013. As part of its activity portfolio, The Center also funds a project incubator that nurtures innovative projects related to 21st-century ministry topics and themes. By providing financial and other support, The BTS Center partners with denominations, churches, other non-profits, and individuals interested in investigating transformational influences in ministry and formulating creative responses. In its new context, The BTS Center is a United Church of Christ related ministry. Even as we celebrate our historic covenantal relationship with the UCC, our programs are ecumenical in nature and designed to serve individuals and communities from varied faith traditions — as well as persons who may not have identified a spiritual home.
