The Chicago Maroon is the independent student newspaper for the University of Chicago, based in Chicago, Illinois, with roots tracing back to 1892. It serves the university community by producing a biweekly print edition that covers News, Viewpoints, Arts and Culture, Grey City, and Sports, while extending its reporting through multimedia channels such as Photo & Video, Social Media, and Data. The publication follows a biweekly release pattern during the autumn, winter, and spring quarters, delivering new issues every other Wednesday. In 2023, the Maroon appointed a chief production officer and later named a managing director; the latter individual subsequently joined the University of Chicago's Polsky Center in December 2023. In April 2026, The Chicago Maroon announced the launch of a minimum viable product to guide its early-stage development.
