The Creative Circus is a mid-sized training institution in the advertising services sector that delivers virtual courses taught by practicing advertising professionals. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, it traces its history to 1995 and was founded by five faculty members from the Portfolio Center. Its curricula emphasize practical, hands-on work in creative advertising, interactive development, design, and photography, with graduates frequently moving into creative roles in the industry—a placement rate reported near 90%. In December 2023, Virginia Commonwealth University acquired The Creative Circus, with plans to broaden access for undergraduates and to guide a relaunch in collaboration with the agency McKinney. The arrangement places the program within a university framework while preserving its long-standing emphasis on developing marketing talent for the advertising ecosystem.
