As a program of Our Saviours Community Services, The English Learning Center is a learning community of refugees, immigrants, and advocates. Our mission is building knowledge for better lives and livelihoods. We provide English (ESL), math, citizenship, computer and reading classes as well as advocacy to adult immigrants and refugees in the Phillips neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Currently the English Learning Center serves nearly 400 adult students each year. It has become a well-known community center for immigrants and refugees from all around the world. We are a volunteer-based organization: over 100 volunteers per year teach all the program classes.
