Founded in 1892 to serve as a safety net for meritorious volunteer firemen of New York. Operates independently of Medicaid and Medicare funding, though inspected regularly by NYSDOH surveyors. State-of-the-art, 24-hour quality care is provided to our members by skilled and dedicated professional staff in an ultra-modern facility. Specialized rehabilitation for both younger and older members includes quality healthcare, compassionate staff, the camaraderie of socializing with fellow firefighters, and continued connections to firefighting activities. Our caring and experienced nurses, social workers and therapists work closely with members to assist them in achieving good health and maximum functioning. Our high-tech physical therapy rehab gym offers state-of-the-art equipment to enhance mobility and independence in activities-of-daily-living. Cozy lounges, billiards and card rooms, along with specialized activities, all help to maintain the members’ firefighting lifestyle. Members enjoy healthy and delicious meals in our formal dining room with beautiful gas fireplace. Under the supervision of our registered dietitian, members eat a balanced and nutritious diet based on their food preferences and medical condition… and enjoy a variety of choices for each meal. The unique camaraderie of living with fellow firefighters has brought individuals from all over New York State – and the Nation – to our facility in the beautiful City of Hudson.
