The Gathering is a local nonprofit hunger-relief organization focused on feeding Milwaukee’s hungry and homeless. Our Community Meal Programs - in operation since 1982 - serve 0n average 80,000-free home cooked meals annually. We are one of Wisconsin’s largest volunteer-based meal program with 1,500 volunteers every year. The Gathering is a community of guests, volunteers and staff united by a common goal: to feed the hungry in body, mind and spirit. We provide ten to eleven free meals each week, cooked fresh on site at four Milwaukee locations, to those who would otherwise go hungry or without. We also offer services associated with ending hunger and homelessness and work to educate our community on hunger issues. Our Community Meal Program is the heart and soul of the Gathering’s mission. The Gathering welcomes everyone to our meal sites without regard to race, religion or lack of a faith belief, national origin, gender, age, handicap, or sexual orientation.

THE MISSION of the Gathering is to provide meals and associated services to those who would otherwise go hungry or without. WE RESPECT the dignity and values of every individual we serve and value our volunteers who allow us to serve the community. WE ACT directly and in concert with others to alleviate hunger and to address the root causes and related problems associated with hunger. OUR SUCCESS is demonstrated by providing quality services to our guests and remaining a viable volunteer-driven organization.
