The Good Food Catalyst is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, operating in the food and beverage manufacturing space with a focus on locally grown and responsibly produced food. Its mission is to expand the production, marketing, and distribution of Good Food to improve social, economic, and environmental health in communities, recognizing access to Good Food as a human right. Good Food is defined as healthy, accessible, sustainable, humane, and fair, produced as locally as possible to support economic growth. The organization runs a range of programs, including the Good Food EXPO, farmer training through Wholesale Success, Direct Market Success, and On-Farm Food Safety, and a six-month Good Food Accelerator that includes mentoring, strategic and technical support, and networking opportunities. Its Market Development program connects local trade buyers with Good Food producers and includes initiatives such as the Organic Grain Promotion Initiative and the Distiller's Network. It also runs Good Food is Good Medicine to promote food and health literacy in the Chicagoland region, and in December 2023 announced Project: Reiterating WFP, a collaboration to support school meals in districts in Ghana.
