OUR MISSION: The Grand entertains, engages, and enriches our community with diverse live performances and educational programs in a welcoming, patron-centered environment. As proud stewards, we celebrate our cherished historic theaters that create economic vitality and lift the human spirit.

For more than 148 years, The Grand Opera House has been delighting the citizens of Wilmington, Delaware, and the greater Brandywine region with the finest live entertainment the country and the world have to offer. 

The Grand currently operates three theaters in downtown Wilmington: Copeland Hall (1,210 seats), The Playhouse on Rodney Square (1,252 seats), and the baby grand (305 seats). With more than 120 performances a year, our venues offer the very best entertainment options, something to please every taste.

The Grand is more than just a concert venue.  We provide arts enrichment and education programming for tens of thousands in Wilmington. These programs use the power of the arts and music to serve the underserved.

As a non-profit organization that presents the best music, comedy, and dance, The Grand is accountable to you and many others who treasure the organization and its three live performance venues as a center for the arts, and a provider of community education programs. You and the others who love The Grand are “the owners,” and the key to a stronger, more vital Grand is many owners doing their part to maintain this valuable community asset.
