The Maneater is the official student newspaper of the University of Missouri, based in Columbia, Missouri. It operates as a student organization independent from the student government and the School of Journalism, with a professional adviser guiding its newsroom. The publication posts online during the academic year and produces a fall Homecoming print issue and a spring MOVE Magazine, while maintaining a social media presence.

The staff is composed primarily of students, and to work there, a student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours, with no requirement to be a journalism major. The Maneater serves the university community as a source of news and information, with editorial decisions made by students and without campus entities dictating coverage. In March 2025, The Maneater covered the True/False Film Fest.
