The Morton Arboretum is a not-for-profit botanical garden and tree research center based in Lisle, Illinois. It pursues scientifically informed action to protect and advance trees through research and international partnerships, addressing threats and promoting tree planting and conservation for healthier communities. The 1,700-acre site hosts 4,500 plant varieties, educational exhibits, an award-winning Children’s Garden, a new Grand Garden, and 16 miles of hiking trails, making it a four-season destination for learning and outdoor experiences. 

It offers classes in horticulture, natural areas restoration, and botanical art to cultivate nature advocates and deepen public understanding of trees and their habitats. As a hub for tree research and regional restoration work, it collaborates with partners to raise awareness of trees' importance to ecosystems and human communities, drawing more than a million visitors each year. In April 2026, The Morton Arboretum announced the appointment of Christie Hoyt as vice president of development.
