The Museum of Flight is a Seattle-based cultural institution in the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos sector that centers on aviation and the experience of flight. Its stated mission is to inspire people through the possibilities of flight, sparked by a memorable moment or a lifetime connection. The organization employs hundreds of staff and serves a broad audience, including visitors, volunteers, and learners.

Since 2016, the museum has partnered with Green River College and the Puget Sound Skills Center to operate the ASP program, enabling Seattle-area high school juniors and seniors to earn both high school and college credits while gaining skills for aviation careers such as airport management, air traffic control, aircraft operations, and airline dispatch. It also hosts and participates in aviation- and design-focused events, including the NorthWest Scale Modelers Show in 2026, as well as Fashion in Flight and a Spacesuit Design Contest in 2025. The institution emphasizes diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural responsiveness, aiming to provide a welcoming environment where all voices are valued and respected.
