The Network of Community Ministries is a Richardson, Texas-based nonprofit organization that responds to human need by providing emergency services, health-related care for uninsured children, and support for older adults to live independently. Founded in 1985, the organization operates as a non-denominational community group with a service area covering fourteen Dallas County ZIP codes, predominantly serving residents from Lake Highlands and Garland. Its activities aim to help individuals move toward long-term independence through access to food, shelter, clothing, utility assistance, dental and acute care for children, and resources for seniors. The network emphasizes a model of caring, coaching, and empowerment to improve quality of life for neighbors in need, and it has a history of facilitating community partnerships and expanding its facilities to support its programs. A recent development includes the launch of a refrigerated box truck to increase food pickup from retail partners, reflecting ongoing efforts to bolster its emergency food efforts.
