The Okonite Company, based in Ramsey, New Jersey, manufactures insulated electrical wire and cable for a wide range of voltages, with six U.S.-based facilities producing instrumentation, power and control, medium voltage, and high voltage products. Its cables use insulating and jacket materials such as Okoguard EPR, and the firm traces its origins to 1878, delivering early services to notable clients including Samuel F.B. Morse and Thomas Edison. 

Okonite serves a broad set of markets, including Electric Utility sectors (distribution, transmission, and generation), Oil & Gas, Chemical, military bases, Railroad and Transit, Pulp & Paper, and various industrial customers such as hospitals, colleges and universities, water treatment plants, and data centers. The company's products are applicable to renewable energy projects, with cables used at wind farms, solar farms, and biofuel facilities. In 1976, Okonite became owned by its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Trust, creating a workforce with a stake in the company’s quality and service.
